Tennessee, Rose

Delve into the childhood of siblings Tennessee and Rose Williams and the rooted guilt of one of Americas greatest playwrights. Rose provided the inspiration for many of Williams’ greatest characters, (Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire, Laura in The Glass Menagerie and Catherine in Suddenly Last Summer) a woman who suffered betrayal at the hands of her family and society as a whole.

The play starts when Rose, in her 80s, is in a medical facility. Tennessee has died, leaving provision for flowers to be sent to her every week from beyond the grave but he is still very alive in her mind and on stage. An inquisitive nurse wants to connect with Rose and tries, against medical advice, to help her find peace, something she may later come to regret.

What might Rose say, was she given a voice? To her brother, to her mother, to her nurse, to the world? The play examines mental health, guilt, and the role of family tragedy in artistic creation…

Stargazer

A fun and fantastical fairytale for our time.

When everything goes wrong for florist Lily, who can she possibly turn to?  Enter a magic telescope bequeathed by her late Aunt which travels alongside three crazy cosmic guides.  The guides have minds of their own and they dont always agree with Lilys traditional methods of getting through life, seeking to enlighten her with their own universal wisdom.

A play for the zeitgeist, with some astrology thrown in, begs the question - do we always know what is best for us? And when the shit hits the fan are we all alone in this great big universe or is there help out there to be had?

Currently in development with The Pleasance.

SEDUCTION AND ON AND ON

A new short play examines the relationship between psychoanalyst and patient. Boundaries are blurred from the outset in this transactional piece which aims to pinpoint where they begin and end and how expectations arise and are managed whilst questioning ethics and boundaries in this shapeshifting arena.
